THE Christmas Eve pier to pier swim in Carlingford takes place on Tuesday, December 24, at 2.45 pm from King John's Pier.
The organisers are hoping to make this the biggest swim ever and are aiming to get 50 swimmers.
Safety boats and Red Cross will be on site. The swim finishes at at Sailing Club with hot showers, soup, and Yuletide cheer. Wetsuits optional.

First prize winner Maeve Yore from Blakely Close, Avenue Road, is the lucky winner of the trip to see Manchester United play Swansea at Old Trafford on January 11. Runner-up was Annemarie Robinson from Castleheights, Castlebellingham, who will be going to Anfield to see Liverpool take on Aston Villa on January 18.
Their fabulous prize includes match tickets, coach/ferry trip and an overnight stay in a hotel.

The Louth Ladies are holding their annual Club All Star Presentation Night in the O'Connells Clubrooms, Castlebellingham on Saturday, December 14, at 8 p.m.
There will be a buffet, a DJ & an award presentation. The all star teams in each division will be announced with three people being nominated in each position. Tickets are €10 each. A county board official will be selling tickets this Monday 9th in the Blues Clubrooms from 7-8pm.
