LOUTH Rose of Tralee, Patricia Marmion enjoyed a catch up with her Cooley neighbours, pin up rugby stars, the Kearney brothers!
As her 'extraordinary' year as Louth Rose draws to a close, Patricia this week launched the search for a new Rose to represent the Wee county at the world famous Rose of Tralee in August.
'I was delighted Dave and Rob came along to Blackrock last weekend, where we had number of girls at Belle's tea rooms signing up for this year's selection process,' said Patricia.
'We are looking for someone who will proudly represent Louth, and it was really great to have two of the best ambassadors for the county there to give their support.'
To launch the 2013 event, Patricia will lead a tour of the new Rose contestants through Louth on Sunday next, April 28th.
'This is something similar to the tour that all Roses take part in when they travel to Tralee, before the finale event.
It was a fantastic experience for me, and I'd really like all those who have out themselves forward in Louth to have that experience.'
'We are hoping to start in the south of the county, and move up north, eventually finishing in Carlingford, where I am from,' said Patricia.
She appealed for any young women between 18 years old and 27 to sign up for the Louth selection night.
'It really is an incredible experience, and I would encourage anyone to take part. Not only is it great for boosting your confidence, and making new friends, but it can also open doors for you in your career as well.'
'This year in particular will be an amazing year to be part of the Rose of Tralee as it is the year of 'The Gathering' and we have so many events happening in Louth as well as across the country,' said Patricia.
The Louth selection event will be held on Sunday May 5th in the Fairways Hotel, where the line up for Louth, and their escorts, will be revealed.
Anyone interested in taking part can download an application form from the website www.roseoftralee.ie, check out the facebook page 'Louth Rose of Tralee' or phone/text Brendan Galvin on 085 7845766.
