Rose escort Jonny McGailey models his new suit for the Rose of Tralee Festival sponsored by Jim McDonnell of McDonnell’s Menswear.

It's not just the Roses who are putting their wardrobes together for the forthcoming Rose of Tralee Festival, but the escorts are also making sure that they are dressed to impress.

Jonny McGailey, who is a strength and conditioning coach with Louth GAA, picked up a new suit from his sponsors Tony McDonnell Menswear ahead of travelling to The Galway Races.

'The Races aren't an official part of the festival but we might meet some of the Roses there,' he told The Argus last week.

'We go down to Tralee on August 14 but won't find out who are Rose is until the following day,' he explained.

Another local escort is Liam Lawlor who is studying for a degree in Community Sports Leadership at Dundalk Institute of Technology and also works as a personal trainer.

He is a keen GAA player and belongs to his local club.

He runs his own bootcamps, and also enjoys boxing where he has reached the Louth county final.
