LAST year was very busy and successful year for SONG. Their production of the Pirate Queen, which took place in March, played to capacity audiences and Sinead O'Callaghan won Best Female Singer at the A.I.M.S. awards for her performance as Grace O'Malley.

They were then offered the Irish premiere of Little Women The Musical which took place in November and, again, was a huge success.

'After a long year, taking on two productions, we felt that it was time to take a break and give our cast and crew a rest!' said Terese Dunne, SONG director. 'But once you have a bug, it's hard to take a break and our cast are ready to go again'.

Therefore SONG will be in the Lisdoo on Friday, February 28, at 8 p.m. to perform songs from numerous musicals. This concert, 'A night of SONG', will feature their award-winning chorus and soloists will include Sinead O'Callaghan, Leanna Carragher, Nik Parks, Brendan Cleary and David McGahey.

Also taking part in the concert will be Jackie Winkless, who performed in both The Pirate Queen and Little Women. This concert in being presented in conjunction with Scoil Dairbhre as a joint fund raiser.

Tickets are on sale in Grants Newsagents, priced €15 each and already are selling fast.

Terese has also revealed SONG be announcing their plans for the coming year on the night, including news of their next musical, which will take place in early February 2015.

Terese wishes to thank all the businesses, the Arts Office, the patrons and councillors who have continually supported SONG over the past few years. They could not continue were it not for such wonderful support.
