Freda Hearty and the Dance Kids once again exceeded expectations and delighted audiences with their show 'Ready to Rumble' in An Tain Theatre recently.
The talented Dance Kids, aged from just four years, danced and sang their hearts out last weekend and brought the house down with delighted audiences declaring it the best show yet.
With two sold-out shows, audiences were transported under the sea where Ariel, Sebastian and all the fish performed to the classics of 'The Little Mermaid'.
The tiny tots got the biggest cheer of the night when they took to the stage to perform to One Direction, with their very own mini-boy band singing 'What Makes You Beautiful'. Afterwards the audience were delighted with songs from 'Cindrella', 'Footloose', 'Taylor Swift' and 'The Wizard of Oz', to name just a few.
The night of entertainment also included a visit from the Spice Girls – Paudie Breen as Ginger Spice, Eddie McArdle as Scary Spice, Niall Farrelly as Sporty Spice, Linda Valentine as Posh Spice and Karen Doherty as Baby Spice.
The 'girls' brought the audience to their feet and had everyone dancing and singing along to their classic hits.
After six months of hard work and two show-stopping performances from the Dance Kids, an exhausted but delighted Freda Hearty said 'I am absolutely thrilled with how well the shows turned out, the feedback we have received has been overwhelming. It's all about having fun and we had so much fun during 'Ready to Rumble', we can't wait for our Christmas show already.
'I would like to thank all the Dance Kids and their families, who are always so supportive,' Freda added.
Preparations are under way for the Dance Kids annual Christmas show, which will take place in An Tàin Theatre in December. New members are always welcome; for further information contact Freda Hearty on (042) 9339797.
Dance Kids also have two exciting summer camps planned – one in Kilkerly Community Centre from July 8 to 12 and in Kilcurry Community Centre from August 12 to 16. Activities include dance, costume making, singing, drama, sports, and arts and craft.
The summer camp is open to children of all ages and limited places are now available. Contact Katie on (083) 0090297.
