Local choir Clermont Chorale took home three first prizes in Navan Choral Festival on May 11.

The choir, under the baton of Irene Barr from Blackrock, was awarded first prize in the Ladies Choir section, the Popular/Gospel section and finished off their day by winning the Rotary Club of Ireland competition. The adjudicators praised their creativity, sensitivity and musicality, saying their performance of the gospel song 'Didn't my Lord Deliver Daniel' was 'mesmeric'.

The choir will travel to Limerick at the end of May to perform in a gala concert in the city as part of the City of Culture celebrations.
