He was interviewing human resources expert Niall Saul on his radio show last month and there followed an interesting discussion where Saul explained that the leader of an organisation creates the culture. If the leadership is wrong, then the culture is wrong and change is impossible.
I was reminded of the exchange this morning when it emerged that former Allied Irish Banks managing director Colm Doherty pocketed more than €3m last year for just 13 months at the helm of the bank that has been bailed out twice by taxpayers and last week posted a pre tax loss of €12bn for 2010.
