World corruption list is worrying

While doing some research on corruption, I came across the fact that Iceland was apparently the least-corrupt country in the world, even though it has gone bankrupt.
The USA, whose administration is almost solely responsible for most of the deaths in the world and is seemingly working hard to increase that percentage, was only 17th.
Ireland, where we are lied to on a daily basis by incompetent and negligent politicians and bureaucrats, was two places below them.
