We're in ideal place to engage with Kerry great's 'work ethic'

When the great Mick O'Connell, one of Kerry's finest ever Gaelic footballers, was an elected member of Kerry County Council, I recall attending a seminar at which he was a keynote speaker.
Mick spoke passionately and eloquently about the "work ethic" and the right of each individual to the dignity of paid employment. I interpreted his views to mean that those of us in Irish society who are able to work have a patriotic duty and moral obligation to do so.
Not only that, but whatever role an individual plays in the workforce should be undertaken with enthusiasm, willingly and to the best of one's ability.
