Weighty matters

• I understand that Health Minister James Reilly wants to ban smoking in outdoor areas such as parks or beaches. Since health has become a moral issue, I feel morally obliged to point out to Dr Reilly that being overweight is also a health hazard.

I suggest the minister should rule that all restaurants and fast-food joints must have scales in the reception area and that no individual with an unhealthy BMI should be admitted.

Problem solved!
