We have lost a friend
Sir -- For as long as I can recall I have been a reader of the Sunday Independent. It has been my constant companion on long, wet, solitary Sundays and on many pleasant sunny ones, too. Granted certain topics covered are not in my domain, but this still leaves many interesting and informative articles to peruse each week.
Like many of your loyal readers, I was shocked when I read of the death of your esteemed colleague, Patricia Redlich. The many affectionate tributes to her were indicative of the love and esteem her colleagues and vast readership attributed to her and we all feel as if we have lost a dear friend.
My Sundays will not be the same without her concise wisdom, compassion and understanding of the broad spectrum of problematic issues troubling humanity and I often feel her advice and insight benefited myself in various circumstances, as, no doubt, many readers felt.
