As the presidential race formally begins, in these times of redundancy and cutbacks would it not be prudent of the new Government to at least consider a referendum on the existence of the surely irrelevant post?
Where is the room, I wonder, for a ceremonial position which siphons funds from the country for the maintenance of a big house and bigger salary? Killian Foley-Walsh
