Watch ministers rush for the door

GIVEN the new rules for the next Dail, which prohibit ex-ministers from receiving their ministerial pensions in addition to their TDs' salaries and expenses, I expect we'll see quite a glut of politicians who suddenly get the urge to retire.
After all, by retiring, many of them stand to draw both ministerial and TD pensions (plus the inevitable lucrative appointment to various boards).
Should they remain as mere opposition TDs, however, they must make do on just their TDs' salary and expenses, which, we are led to believe, are to be cut.
