Vulgar gaze . . . Fidelity . . . Meltdown . . . Damsels

Jane Dignam's assertion that the behind-closed-doors inquiry into the banking crisis is "the best of all options" (Letters, January 22) is laughable.
The inquiry is designed to hide from the vulgar gaze of the peasants what our lords were up to. The peasants have to pay the bill but won't be allowed to find out how their masters bankrupted the country.
