VHI increases not fair to pensioners

The first week of January , and already the VHI come out with an increase of 15pc to 45pc. Having paid into the VHI for my entire working life, and luckily not having had to use it, now that I have retired, at this rate of increases it will not be long before I and my wife are priced out of this organisation. Or is that the plan?

The VHI had no problem taking my money for the last 30 years or so. Are they accountable to anyone? Do they ever get a government inspection? If shops were to put up prices by these amounts we could go to another, but unfortunately, being of retirement age, no one else will touch us.
