Two can play at the blame game
Declan Doyle tells us that "government officials, public sector managers, and the unions" are equally to blame for the problems that "ruined us" as those who ran our banks (Letters, April 1).
I am at a loss to know why he left the heads of government out. They were elected by the people of this country to make the big decisions on how the country is run. The role of "government officials, public sector managers, and the unions" in administering the public services is determined by the most powerful people in the country, the Government.
Should they not receive whatever blame that is going, over and above that due to the "officials" singled out by Declan Doyle?
