Tunnel vision has led to road chaos

I REFER to Dr Sean Barrett's request that future Dublin transport projects "not be allowed to proceed without any published appraisal" (Letters, April 14).
The state of public transport in Dublin and the waste of money involved is epitomised by an under-used tunnel to the airport and a €60m Samuel Beckett Bridge that is nearly impossible to access.
The under-used tunnel, if made slightly larger, could have accommodated the proposed Metro at very little extra cost.
