Transparent inquiry vital

Sir -- As a disabled person I am extremely aggravated, as I find it unacceptable that Brian Lenihan has enforced a €40bn debt upon the citizens of this country.
The shocking revelations of last Tuesday's banking disaster, is the legacy that stinks of the political cronyism as it protects the financial interests of a Golden Circle. This financial apocalypse we have had enforced upon us, makes gangsters like Al Capone and the Mafia look like altar boys. I do believe that the negligence of government officials, helped the falsifying of our economy for political gains and personal egos.
The reluctance of Bertie Ahern and Brian Cowen to heed warnings of an economic downturn is now more questionable than ever. That's why the Taoiseach's words "we are where we are" and blaming an international financial crisis is so outrageous, because his inability to protect our economy helped put us here.
