Time to take city back from thugs
Recently, I was in Dublin city centre with some friends visiting from Spain. We visited the book of Kells in Trinity College and the library.
At about 2pm, we made our way across O'Connell Bridge and as we approached the boardwalk we noticed around 10 male youths, two of whom were bare-knuckle boxing. The others were cheering them on.
As we walked on the other side of the street, I noticed two gardai walking briskly to where the fighting was taking place. I was embarrassed at what I had witnessed and ashamed of my city and the bad impression that it had given to visiting tourists.
