Time for global action on economic freefall

•For three weeks in July 1944, delegates from 44 nations booked themselves into the the Mount Washington Hotel in New Hampshire.
Their objective was to rebuild the world's economy from the ruins of war. The result was the Bretton Woods system which laid down a framework for monetary management between countries.
They produced a blueprint to govern the international monetary system, setting up the IMF in the process.
