This nation is the cuckoo in EU nest
Bruce Arnold writes in the Irish Independent, November 24, 2010: "We are, per head of population, the most debt-burdened country in the developed world. In effect, we are putting all that development at risk for the sake of our European masters."
It seems to me that we have, let's say, borrowed €100,000,000,000 which it would be desirable to repay. It has been invested in, or converted into, new buildings, which generated overflowing government coffers, which kept the policymakers in power for three elections in a row.
Our creditors do not wish to come and live in, or use, those buildings and we cannot move them to our creditors.
