There's a revolution coming, Taoiseach
Well done, Carol Flannery from Mayo. And congratulations on your beautifully constructed letter on the heartbreak of emigration (Irish Independent, August 11).
Hundreds have left my town over the years. Hetheringtons, Conroys, Dowlings, Brophys and Gormans. Our loss was a net gain for some foreign field. Their labours a blessing in good times and bad.
Not all of them carried their hearts on their sleeves, and some never again set foot in Ireland. The pattern was repeated in every town in the country.
