The new learner system is needed

With regard to Declan Cullen and Michael Job's letters in yesterday's paper, I wish to comment. I fully agree with the introduction of a minimum number of lessons for all new drivers.
I say this as a qualified driver of 10 years who also received a Private Pilot's Licence (PPL) five years ago.
The PPL course is designed to take the student pilot through a structured learning schedule to eventually bring them up to a level in which the instructor feels they are ready to take a flight test.
