The jet set
•In regard to our Justice Minister Alan Shatter: we behave justly if our actions are based on the presumption that we should all be treated in exactly the same manner unless there are relevant reasons for doing otherwise.
We must presume that all the citizens of the land have a right to private jet travel unless relevant reasons arise for thinking otherwise. The most potent reason is that our small country cannot afford such extravagance. In the case of Mr Shatter, the reasons were unconvincing. The Taoiseach has shown great moral courage in confronting such a request. One had hoped that this waste from the public purse had ended.
