The Good Friday 'agreement'

Nick Folley asks: "Is staying sober on two days of the year too much to ask?" (Letters, March 31). I choose to stay sober most days, though I may go to the pub for lunch or to watch sports with friends or to socialise over a non-alcoholic beer.

Should I choose to have a single beer while there I would still consider myself sober (and would not be over the legal limit for most things).

I chose not to do this yesterday, or the day before. So I have met Mr Folley's criteria of missing two days in the year -- and so now I can choose to go to the pub on Good Friday without any religious issues.
