The days when we all went to the 'pitchers'
•I don't bother too much with the cinema these days as television and DVDs have taken over in film land. I remember the days of the flicks, the pictures and the cinema.
In Dublin the Savoy, the Ambassador, the Capital, the Metropole and the Adelphi were cinemas where you could always see a good film. And the Carlton was where all the creepy films were shown.
I used to love the interval when the 'Orange Maid' ladies appeared with their trays and a light on top and you would be lucky to have a few bob for the ice-pop.
