Teaching religion is not a classroom issue

Religion is 'taught' in schools, but philosophy isn't, lest we develop free thinking.
Doctrine as a study of human behaviour and mores is a valid academic subject, but due to our political history, Irish schools have traditionally been mostly denominational.
Catholic schools have been used as a method of indoctrination whereas other faiths impart religious teaching on their Sabbath.
