TD job perk is a fait accompli

IF I'm a TD I can have the taxpayer give thousands of euro to my children and spouse to do "secretarial work", my spouse can serve on a VEC board and sell land for school building to that board, I can appoint my brother to a well-paid job with a state quango, and my spouse can head a company which has lucrative contracts with the state departments of which I am in charge.
And if I'm not a TD I can join the queue at the SVP and ask for some cheese.
I'm only asking because JFK's speechwriter, Ted Sorenson, died last week and he was responsible for his president's inaugural speech and the famous plea to his fellow Americans, "Ask not what your country can do . . ." I give up!
