Take a chill pill

•Gabriel Doherty (Irish Independent, October 3) sneers at Desmond Fitzgerald's inescapably logical conclusion that the Easter Rising permanently alienated unionists with a sarcastic description of "those peaceful, halcyon days of 1912-4 when unionist and nationalist embraced each other as brothers".

A line from Bob Dylan comes to mind: "If you've got a cold, take a shot of malaria."
