Support for 'No' vote will backfire

Madam -- I refer to Ralph Riegel's article reporting the fact that the Civil Public and Services Union had backed a No vote in the EU Fiscal Treaty Referendum (Sunday Independent, April 29, 2012). I am not too sure that the members of the CPSU are wise to support a No vote.

The members should remember that the CPSU's own representatives were around the table with government, Ibec, etc when the decisions were made which bankrupted the country during the Celtic Tiger period.

Now the CPSU is advocating a course of action which could cut us off from international funding.
