Summer's a time for heroes, not soccer zeros

WHY should the Irish Independent devote two columns of syndicated rubbish about how some English Premier League footballers are spending their summer holidays (Sport, July 5)?

Who cares what overpaid prats like Wayne Rooney and Joey Barton are getting up to?

Thankfully, most of us live in the real world and have our GAA players and jockeys to follow. Most of those sportsmen get the headlines for the right reasons.
