Still believing in spite of church

Archbishop Rowan Williams' comments on the state of the Irish Catholic Church as having "lost all credibility" and having suffered a "colossal trauma" due to clerical sex abuse and its cover-up (Irish Independent, April 3) must be faced up to rather than being summarily dismissed.
This defensiveness from the highest leadership in the church in refusing to face up to the challenge of a crumbling church which is losing credibility by the day must be challenged by those of us who don't fear an episcopal or Vatican reprimand.
Bishops and cardinals refuse to face public questioning and refuse to accept radical reform.
