Soft targets

•The Government had no problem in cutting my lowly teacher's pension by €29.21 per week and taking a universal social charge of €20.21 a week as well.

There were no 'legal difficulties', no 'contractual constraints', no complexities.

Sure there wasn't even a 'by your leave'. How much easier it is, to to deal with the rank and file, than cut the obscene pensions of the elite.
