Sense of urgency would be nice
The IMF has clearly and unequivocally advised the Government to bring in vital budgetary measures as soon as possible. It has also made it clear that every day we wait increases the cost for this country.
So, why then are we having a Budget as late as the December 7, only to have it implemented in early to mid-January?
Surely the advice from the IMF is to be regarded as expert in these situation. But their instructions have been ignored by stubborn Irish politicians who have put their own political survival ahead of everybody else's concern.
