Sense of entitlement is perverse in extreme

A wonderful piece of journalism from Michael Brennan (Irish Independent, August 15), headlined "Drivers who fail to pay their motor tax face automatic fines".
It is quite clear that city and county managers view motor tax as a pure revenue earner for their own departments. If these same managers put as much time and effort into keeping their roads in perfect condition I could understand their position, but viewing motor tax as something that they are entitled to is perverse in the extreme.
