Saving homes has greater value

I SAT in court last week and watched homes being taken away from ordinary citizens while waiting patiently for my turn to fight to hold on to my own home.
And it was the most heartrending and demoralising couple of hours I have ever spent in my 47 years on this earth.
I have, like every other citizen, watched the events of the economic meltdown unfold with horror, knowing it would cost the taxpayer and future generations of taxpayers €51bn to recapitalise the banks.
