Sale of state assets must be scrutinised

The McCarthy report and its recommendations regarding the selling of state assets deserve our full attention. It is appalling to think that the Government might assume responsibility for selling the rug from beneath our feet.

It is preposterous to think that in order to pay for the sins of our bankers, we may become tenants in our own country, potentially benefiting from a short-term cash injection and a lifetime of rent!
