Ryanair off the rails on Metro
RYANAIR'S Stephen McNamara claims the Metro North to Dublin Airport is "insane stupidity" (Letters, August 20).
Most capital cities have a rail connection to their main airports. Trains are faster and more convenient than buses and far more reliable; one can never know how long a bus is going to be stuck in traffic jams.
For him to say "it won't be used by Dubliners travelling to the airport", I would say he is the one who is insane, especially since he assumes they will drive to St Stephen's Green to look for parking. Dubliners will connect to the station by buses, trams, the DART and taxis just as they do in other cities.
