RTE and reality

•I was nearly moved to tears when I read the quotes in today's newspaper in relation to the stars of RTE being unable to survive on salaries in excess of €250,000. Sean O'Rourke is quoted as saying broadcasters in the private sector earn more. Maybe -- but I am not paying for them through a licence fee.
RTE should be made to sink or swim in the real world without any licence fee. What loss if the big guns threaten to leave? Where else would they get the same gravy train? Let's see if many of them can get €500,000 for a few hours a week in the real world.
