Rounding up the usual suspects

CLAIMS the English riots were provoked by social deprivation, the marginalised, the disadvantaged and social malcontents in society does not tally with the profile of some of those already charged -- which include university students, an opera house steward and many people currently at work.
Indeed, they are not unlike the profiles of those English soccer rioters in Lansdowne Road in 1995, which included company directors, civil servants and graduates together with the worthies of the British National Party and Combat18. Watching and listening to some of the looters and rioters as they vented spleen at community workers and police was like an open-air episode of the Jeremy Kyle Show.
