Robbing Peter to pay Paul

Sir -- I was shocked when I read in last week's Sunday Independent that 900 people's electricity is cut off every month. Now the ESB should be the last people to do that. It's a disgrace the way they treat their consumers. They read the meters four times a year and use an estimation the rest of the time.

These estimations are way off the mark. Some people get estimations much less than they use and others much more than they use. My last bill was over €100 more than the meter reading. I had to phone the ESB with my readings as I know we could not have used so much electricity in the summertime.

It cost me money for the phone call waiting for answers, and time on press this number and that number.
