RIP, JR

• My abiding memory of Larry Hagman was when at the height of his 'Dallas' fame in the early 1980s, one of Dublin's great 'Mad Men', Don O'Connell of Doherty Advertising, which had the Health Education Bureau account at the time, persuaded Mr Hagman to appear in one of the most memorable and effective anti-smoking commercials.

Readers will recall the humour of this TV spot when his beautiful dining partner lit a cigarette at the restaurant table and Larry produced one of those novel mini-fans and placed it in front of her.
