Restoring dignity to weak in society
THE other night on RTE's 'Prime Time' a number of people were interviewed. These people seem to spend a lot of their time on the boardwalk in the city centre. Many of them seem to have drug problems.
I mean no disrespect when I say that most of them are unlikely, ever, to be able to contribute to society in any meaningful way. They will be in need of long-term help from the State and from those agencies who do such sterling work dealing with such poor unfortunates.
However, there was one man who had been a taxi driver until his car had been stolen.
