Put an end to 'gun porn' culture

• Perhaps the senseless killing of 20 children between 5 and 10 years of age at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, will finally bring average Americans to their senses and see them face down the powerful gun lobby and the National Rifle Association of America.

The horror of Newtown highlights the dangers of a gun porn culture that tries to legitimise itself as video game entertainment.

This human disaster, aligned to other massacres of young people in Columbine and Virginia Tech, is certainly not what the American fathers intended when they enshrined the right to bear arms in the 2nd Amendment of the constitution in 1791.
