Proper analysis of metro needed

YOU report the payment of €50,000 to consultants to tell the public that the capital will have two DART lines.

The money should be spent instead on the application of a cost-benefit analysis to both the proposed Dublin underground rail lines, as was recommended in last year's Bord Snip report.

It ought to be a matter of some concern to the Departments of Transport and Finance that these projects have been allowed to proceed without any published appraisal.
