Privatisation is not more efficient

The scandal of the often appalling level of home-care 'packages' for the elderly exposes once and for all the lie that privatisation of state services leads to an improvement in quality or efficiency.
All it really results in is the chance for privately-owned companies to squeeze the maximum profit possible out of their businesses through shoddy practices and exploitation of their employees.
As long as the money keeps rolling in, those who deliver public services for profit will, naturally, cut whatever corners necessary, to ensure their own profit margins while ignoring the rights of the infirm and those who care for them.
