THE earthquake in Haiti has generated humanitarian responses from many nations, including Ireland. Despite our current beleaguered financial state we have sent personnel, finance and equipment that we probably can ill afford.
As always, the US has responded magnificently with supplies, the army and personnel.
Europe has also risen to the crisis by sending finance and skilled teams of volunteers for search and rescue. And other large and wealthy states of the world have sent help and money.
