Pope never preached technology was evil
Bernard O'Reilly (Letters, April 21) would be right to be outraged if the Pope preached that using technology was evil. Regretfully, the reference to the Pope's Palm Sunday homily did not reflect accurately the Pope's sentiments.
The entire theme of his address was an affirmation of humanity's longing to better itself. He said that human desire was to be like God.
The Pontiff pointed out, quite correctly, that we are not always as in charge of our destiny as we might like to think. He stated that we are grounded by physical and moral realities and, despite our best efforts, our limitations remain.
