Pooling our resources
•It is with great interest that I read Labour Party leader Eamon Gilmore is ensuring his local constituency gets a swimming pool.
These reports inspire a huge amount of confidence that the deputy prime minister of this country has his priorities straight. True, we are bankrupt and require continued aid from our European neighbours in return for reduced sovereignty and eventual corporate tax increases, but these are minor details in the overall scheme of things.
Our exceedingly well-paid politicians should ensure that their local constituents enjoy their constitutional right to a cheap swim within 10 minutes' drive of their homes.
