Patience a great virtue in sport

THE reason that the New Zealand All Blacks walloped Ireland, yet again, in New Plymouth last week, was because of a critical gulf in mental strength.

Until the match outcome had been put beyond dispute, New Zealand's mental focus was absolute and unrelenting.

This allowed New Zealand, as per usual, to play with great patience.
